Why do liberals confuse Federal Government Jobs with Local and State Gov Jobs?
Teachers are state and local jobs.
Fireman and Police are state and local jobs
Roads and Infrastructure are private jobs not federal jobs even though they may be paid with some federal dollars.
The federal government should have no hand in paying for these jobs anyways. The states can tax and spend without the federal redistribution of funds.
Roberto I said that if you read the question. The explosion of Federal employees does not include them.
They are private sector employees.
Politicians make no distinction to mislead their moronic constituency. They fall for it every time.

Does anyone think a lot of federal government jobs will be cut?
I see ads everyday on Yahoo concerning the economy. Does anyone think federal government jobs will be cut as a result of how the economy is now? If so, what types of jobs do you think will be cut? I have been concerned about this for some time now.
Yes. And it's a shame because stupid people who run this so called 'economy' are thinking they're gonna get free imports from different countries. Which is why we're so down in business.
Idiots aren't paying back other debts from other countries. And for those who put a minus under this answer.. You do not understand what is going on with this economy of ours.

How can I find the meaning of the federal government jobs' grade?
I am trying to apply to the some jobs with the federal government; however: they have very confusing qualifications (ex. G-2). I tried looking in the USA JOBS website for a table that would tell me what does it mean but can't find anything.
Thanks Rebbeca, although I knew that, my main question is where can I see what every single step requires?? Like I am applying for a G-5, but is that bachelors with experience or what?
www.opm.gov/qualifications has the listings of all the job qualifications by grade for the specific jobs. You can look by job title or number. Sometimes it takes a little work to fin the job you want to apply for.

Can a heart transplant prevent me from applying for Federal /Government jobs?
I was recently diagnosed with some heart disease (heart Failure) and maybe will need a heart transplant, will these consider as a disability, and can prevent me from applying for Federal / Government jobs?
You can apply for any Federal job that does not have certain physical requirements that you do not meet. The only jobs you might not be able to apply to are ones that involve physical labor.

Those of you with federal government jobs: How long did the hiring process take?
The federal government is notorious for having a very long and drawn out hiring process. It isn't uncommon for a person to apply for a job in January and not hear anything until May or June.
After submitting a resume through USAjobs, filling out the occupational questionnaire, making the selection list and participating in a second interview how long does it usually take after this interview for the government to reach a hiring decision?
Would you share some of the experiences you have had with federal government employment?
I'm specifically concerned about FCIP (federal career intern position) programs
well i don't have a federal job but i do have a State job i work for the State of Arkansas as a Correctional Officer at the State prison in Arkansas. well the hiring part isn't long but you have a 7 week training program to go to everyday except saturdays and sundays. but the good thing is you get paid every 2 weeks while getting trained at their training academy.

When should an individual should start applying for the federal government jobs?
I graduate in Dec. and I really want to get a job with the Federal Government upon graduation. I know that it is a long process with security clerance and everything but when should I start to possibly gain employment after graduating.
Start applying now for any job you are qualified for, unless the job says that the start date is immediate or well before your graduation date.

Why doesn't the federal government create more jobs by expanding its bureaucracy?
The government could eliminate unemployment if it just created a couple of million good union federal jobs. Then, we won't have to worry about the so-called "private sector" with it's slave wages, at-will employment, and mandatory overtime.
I would like to see that happen, too. We can not depend on the private sector to answer all of our economic problems and President Barack Obama needs to create more public sector jobs for the unemployed.

How much tuition reimbursment do federal government jobs offer?
I've tried to look specifically for how much tuition reimbursement does the IRS offer their employees, but every time I search for that it just comes up with what rules the IRS has about tuition reimbursement. So does anyone know what is the maximum amount (cap) of tuition reimbursement that government jobs give to their employees? I would imagine most government agencies are the same, but also correct me if I'm wrong there. Thank you for the help
While I do appreciate any responses Brent, I already have a job so that's really not helpful. Wrong posting my friend
I work for DHS and your only able to apply when your a permanent employee. I read something like you can take up to three classes a semester or year..The average employee can get $847 dollars per class.
Also, look into the IRS paying you to go to school. This means you get paid while being a fulltime student or in another way. If you get accepted, you will owe the IRS time after you get your degree.
When it comes to federal government jobs, what grade do you have to be at to be taken seriously?
I heard that if you get hired below a certain grade with the federal government, then you're not taken seriously and can't ever get promoted to the really high grades. Is that true and what is that cut off grade (was it 11 or 12)?
Thanks.
You won't be hired without at least grade 12. Expect college diploma and/or university degree to even be considered for the majority of jobs.
What's considered a good rating for federal government jobs?
I received an 82 for a position in the federal government. I know that in academics that's "average," but how does that play out in the federal government?
The position I applied for was the HUD Federal Career Intern Program. I'm not sure how competitve it is. They have 3 openings where I live and 23 in other states. The position was only open for 3 weeks so I'm hoping not many people applied (especially since it was over the Christmas/NYE holidays)
Depends on who else applies. For the more competitive positions, you usually need a score of 90 or better to make the first cut and get an interview.
